Doug has had a very interesting and varied professional career. After graduating College as a Construction Engineering Technologist he started his career in the family General Contracting Company. Some years later he started his own Custom Home Building Company, Jonathon Douglas Homes, and he accepted a position as Projects Coordinator for a large Construction Conglomerate, Intron and VHL Construction.
He is an expert negotiator, a skill he acquired after moving to Port Elgin in 1991 to pursue his interests in Scuba Diving where he was elected to Town Council and spent 13 years in various capacities including Deputy Mayor. He also spent 5 years as Chair of the Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority.
After leaving Municipal Politics in the fall of 2010, he decided to pursue a career in Real Estate. “My past activities give me an in-depth knowledge that is very beneficial for my client’s Real Estate needs,” he explains. “I offer an abundance of knowledge about the constructing of all types of buildings as well as a familiarity about their structural integrity. My years on Town Council and with Conservation Authority assist me negotiating and the difficult task of getting it done right the first time.”
“My goal is to help clients make their dreams come true as I assist with their Real Estate needs. I am a firm believer that the buying and selling process should be fun exciting and seamless and I strive to achieve this while building a strong open relationship with my clients.”
